Hormone Replacement Therapy

HRT involves the administration of hormones to compensate for deficiencies due to gland failure or menopause. Common uses encompass estrogen and progesterone treatment for menopausal women, testosterone replacement therapy for men with hypogonadism, and thyroid hormone treatment. While effective in symptom relief and prevention of osteoporosis, HRT carries potential risks and requires careful patient selection and monitoring.
