Psycho-dermatology is a multi-faceted area that looks at the relationship between psychological and dermatologic processes. More specifically, it looks at the incidence, the seriousness, degree, and evolution of dermatological conditions; the influence of emotional stress, behavioral factors, and mental illnesses. Additionally, this field studies the psychological outcomes of the visible and chronic skin conditions that the patients suffer from. Psycho-dermatology advocates for the combination of psychological and dermatologic care and treatment. The studies done in this area support the integration of personalized management in the dermatologic care of patients.
