Dr. Mamoun Magzoub Mohamed Osman is an accomplished Sudanese academic and medical professional specializing in Medical Parasitology and Microbiology. He currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology & Parasitology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Kassala, Sudan. He obtained his Ph.D. in Medical Parasitology from the University of Gezira (2011), following his M.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Science (Parasitology) from the University of Al-Neelain (2005), a Higher Diploma in Medical Parasitology from the University of Al-Zaiem Al-Azhari (2001), and a B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Science from the University of Khartoum (1996). In addition, he completed his MBBS at Sudan International University in 2020, which strengthened his dual expertise in both laboratory sciences and clinical practice. Dr. Osman has extensive teaching and research experience across several Sudanese and regional universities, including the University of Kassala, Karary University, Sudan International University, International University of Africa, Elrazi University, and Alsharq University of Science & Technology. He has also held key administrative roles such as Dean of the Faculty of Medical Laboratory Science (Alsharq University of Science & Technology), Head of Department, and Program Coordinator. His research contributions span diverse fields of parasitology, infectious diseases, and public health, with over 40 peer-reviewed publications in international and regional journals. His studies have addressed malaria, schistosomiasis, tuberculosis, gastrointestinal parasites, and maternal health issues, among others. He has also co-authored case reports, supervised MSc and PhD students, and reviewed for reputed journals such as Pediatrics (AAP), Saudi Medical Journal, and the Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Disease. Dr. Osman is an active member of several professional and scientific bodies, including the European Society of Clinical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases (ESCMID), the Sudan Medical Specialization Board (SMSB), and serves on the Editorial Board of the Global Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology (GJMB). In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Osman has participated in numerous international conferences, workshops, and training programs, including advanced molecular diagnostic techniques at the Royal Tropical Institute (KIT), Amsterdam. His career reflects a strong commitment to improving healthcare and education in Sudan and beyond, with a focus on infectious disease control, medical education reform, and laboratory sciences development.

Dr. Dimple Goel is an Australian board-certified Neonatologist, Paediatric Sleep Specialist, and Retrieval Specialist with over 15 years of clinical experience across leading healthcare institutions, including AIIMS (India), Sydney Children’s Hospital Network, Royal Hospital for Women (Sydney), Monash Children’s Hospital (Melbourne), Women’s and Children’s Hospital (Adelaide), and neonatal & paediatric retrieval services in Sydney and Adelaide. She currently serves at Perth Children’s Hospital, Western Australia, leading the Neonatal Sleep Service and Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) program. Dr. Goel holds an MD in Paediatrics, FRACP in Neonatology and Paediatric Sleep Medicine, dual Master’s degrees in Public Health and Health Management, and is pursuing her PhD at the University of Western Australia. She is a recipient of the ISWA Personal Excellence Award (2025) and the CAHS Consumer Award (2022). Her work spans quality improvement initiatives, clinical governance, service innovation, and multidisciplinary collaboration, with a research focus on neonatal sleep-disordered breathing and respiratory care in preterm infants and children with rare diseases.

Abeer Khaled Al-Baho

Dr. Abeer Khaled Al-Baho is a distinguished Kuwaiti physician and academic, renowned for her contributions to Family Medicine in Kuwait and the wider Middle East region. A graduate of the Kuwait University Medical School, Dr. Al-Baho earned her Doctorate in Family Medicine in 1989. She has been a Consultant Family Physician and an active leader in family medicine training and health policy for over three decades.

In 1992, she became a certified trainer in the Family Medicine Training Program and later served as an examiner from 1998. She was appointed Director of the Family Medicine Training Program from 2001 to 2008, during which time she played a pivotal role in developing the curriculum and mentoring future practitioners. In 2008, she became Chairman of Primary Health Care and also chaired the Health Promotion Department the same year.

Dr. Al-Baho has held key roles on various national committees, including the General Practitioners Evaluation Committee (2002–2009) and the Geriatric Care Committee in General Practice (2003–2009). She is a former member of the Arab Board for Family Medicine.

Internationally recognized, Dr. Al-Baho became a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) in April 2005 and was awarded Fellowship (FRCGP) the same year. She is also a valued member of editorial boards for the Kuwait Medical Journal and the Middle-East Family Medicine Journal.

Her career reflects a deep commitment to advancing family medicine, medical education, and public health in the region.

Alex Daniels is an experienced children’s palliative care nurse and educationalist. She has a Masters in Paediatric Palliative Care from the University of Cape Town. Alex has gained rich experiences from a range of diverse settings including community health, adult intensive care and in the early childhood development sector. She facilitated bereavement training workshops prior to her work as a clinician and trainer in paediatric palliative care.

Alex has been working with the International Children’s Palliative Care Network (ICPCN) since 2017, managing their e-learning programme and teaching on face-to-face courses, webinars and workshops on paediatric palliative care. She has experience in developing new courses and is involved in education internationally.
