Proteolysis Targeting Chimeras

PROTACs are bifunctional molecules that induce degradation of disease-causing proteins by recruiting them to the cell's ubiquitin-proteasome system. Unlike inhibitors, they eliminate the target protein entirely. This approach is effective against "undruggable" targets. PROTACs offer a catalytic mode of action combined with extended effects. They are emerging as a novel paradigm in targeted therapy.
