Affiliation: RMIT University, Melbourne

Department: Department of Neuroscience

Designation: CEO Founder of KTalk

Country: Australia

Dr. Kerryn Burgoyne (PhD) was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome at the age of 30 in 1998, at a time when the condition was scarcely recognized—throughout the 1970s, 1980s, and even the 1990s. Highly independent, she has always been able to make her own decisions without relying on others for constant support.

Understanding and navigating the world was both a significant and challenging journey. Between 2005 and 2013, Dr. Burgoyne undertook a profound personal transformation, moving away from a less mature lifestyle to become a determined, strong-minded, and resilient member of society.

As part of this journey, she authored and developed six self-help life course books, with several focusing on autism that became particularly popular. These works have since been redeveloped and are now available for purchase through her website: https://ktalk.au.
