Prof. Wang Jufang is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Biological Science and Engineering, South China University of Technology (SCUT). She earned her Ph.D. in Fermentation Engineering from SCUT in 2000, following earlier degrees in Agronomy (Yangtze University) and Horticulture (South China Agricultural University). She has served at SCUT since 2000, progressing from Lecturer to Associate Professor and Professor, and has been a visiting scholar at both the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and The Ohio State University under the China Scholarship Council.

Her research focuses on biochemistry and molecular biology, fermentation engineering, biosafety and rapid detection technologies, microbiology, and synthetic biology. She has led more than 16 national and a provincial research project, published over 60 SCI papers in high-impact journals, and holds more than a dozen invention patents. Prof. Wang is also dedicated to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in microbiology and cell biology, and she supervises doctoral and master’s students in related fields.

Prof. Hairui Yang received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Thermal Engineering from Tsinghua University in 1997, 2000, and 2003, respectively. In 2003, he started his working experience. He was a Lecturer at the Department of Thermal Engineering at Tsinghua University from 2003 to 2006. Then, he became an Associate Professor in the same department from 2006 to 2013. Since 2013, he has been a Professor. His research interests are gas-solid fluidization, circulating fluidized bed coal combustion technology, and pollution control. He has been in charge of several research projects involving coal combustion, biomass utilization, and emission control. He has extensive experience in boiler design and operation, energy saving and discharge optimization, and emission control on the flue gas from boilers. Also, He has been the project leader of several international projects from EDF (France), Alstom( USA), IHI (Japan) VTT (Finland), and B&W (USA), which cover the fundamental research and industrial application in CFB boiler. Currently, he is the project leader of the Key Project of the National twelve‐Five Year Research Program of China, “The research and demonstration on the energy saving and low emission CFB boiler”. He has an extensive international network in CFB combustion, fluidization, and emission control

His major expertise are in bioconversion of biomass, anaerobic digestion, yeast immobilization, and fermentation. Dr. Malik is currently serving as talent research fellow at college of pastoral agriculture science and technology, Lanzhou university, Gansu, China.
