Future Secure Digital Ecosystems and Intelligent Infrastructure

Future Secure Digital Ecosystems and Intelligent Infrastructure refer to digitally integrated environments where smart technologies and physical systems work together in a trustworthy and resilient manner. These ecosystems include integration of AI, Big Data and analytical computing, Cloud and Edge Computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and cyber-physical systems to create intelligent, adaptive services for smart cities, energy grids, transportation systems, health care, and industry. With intelligence embedded within the systems, the infrastructure can sense, predict, and automate control for advanced continuous operational improvement of efficiency, safety, and sustainability. As digital ecosystems grow, incorporating futuristic elements, the addition of seamlessly integrated autonomy and connectivity will only increase the occurrence of cyber threats and systemic failures. Utilizing ‘Architectures Secure by Design’, the increased elements of systemic failures are partially mitigated by the inclusion of cyber security, privacy, and identity management, along with systemic resilience, which are integrated at various levels of infrastructure and are not retrofitted. The incorporation of the latest monitoring/driving/threat detection/ and self-healing A.I. technologies provide systems with the ability to anticipate disruptions, respond to the attacks, and recover from the failures. In the very near future, fully A.I. integrated digital ecosystems will provide the needed intelligent infrastructure to support trust to the innovation society and the increased and sustained economic growth.
