Dr. Ogugua is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of South Africa, with a strong academic and research background in crop physiology, phytopathology, and sustainable agriculture. He earned his PhD in Agriculture from UNISA, where his research examined the physiological responses of tomato plants to acid mine water and the mitigating effects of gibberellic acid.
His research interests include plant–environment interactions, biocontrol of plant pathogens, microbial inoculants, and the application of biofertilizers and biostimulants to improve crop productivity. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals on topics such as biological control agents, plant–microbe interactions, and bioremediation. His work combines molecular, physiological, and ecological approaches to address pressing challenges in plant health and crop production.
Dr. Ogugua has served as a reviewer for journals including Heliyon, Discover Agriculture, and 3Biotech. He is an active member of the American Phytopathological Society and the South African Council for Natural Science Professionals. With extensive experience in postgraduate supervision, scientific communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration, he is well-qualified for editorial roles in the field of plant pathology.
