Elena Bochkina is a Jew born in Russia. She received her bachelor’s degree in educational sciences from Moscow City University, her master’s degree in educational psychology, and her doctoral degree in educational science, which she also graduated with honors from Moscow City University. Head of an international research group (Russia, China, Israel, USA) studying acculturation issues. Member of the Culture, Family, and Health Laboratory at the College of Education at the University of Texas at Austin. The author of the developmental theory of representation about the cyclicity of spatio-temporal processes in preschool children as a tool for social integration, whish based on development program “Me and Time”. Her research interests include: cross-cultural psychology (migration/refugees’ issue, acculturation, social stereotypes; cognitive research (cognitive differences among migrants gifted and normotypical; cognitive development of preschool and primary school children, the connection between the image-anticipation and intellectual development).
