Dr. Danijela Šikuljak is a Principal Research Fellow at the Institute for Plant Protection and Environment, Belgrade, Serbia, with more than two decades of experience in weed science and phytomedicine. She obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Agriculture, and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Bologna, Italy.
Her research focuses on weed biology, plant physiology and ecology, herbicide resistance, crop–weed competition, and the development of sustainable weed control strategies, including the use of bioherbicides and allelochemicals. Dr. Šikuljak has played a key role in numerous national research projects funded by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Agriculture of Serbia and has coordinated subprojects addressing innovative pest control approaches.
In addition to her scientific work, she holds several leadership positions, including Head of Department, Vice President of the Weed Science Society of Serbia, and Assistant Director of the Institute. Her work significantly contributes to advancing sustainable agriculture and integrated weed management practices in Serbia and the wider region.
