Dr. Muhammad Hamzah Saleem is a Research Assistant at Qatar University and is recognized among the Top 2% Scientists Worldwide. He has authored over 240 peer-reviewed research articles with more than 14,000 citations, focusing on plant stress physiology, phytoremediation, nanotechnology, and sustainable agriculture. His research primarily investigates the mechanisms of plant tolerance under heavy metal stress and the application of nanoparticles and plant growth-promoting microbes for remediation strategies. Dr. Saleem has extensive editorial and reviewing experience for numerous high-impact international journals and actively contributes to advancing plant science research globally.
Conducted vegetative propagation experiments under hydroponic conditions at Qatar University’s Vegetable Factory, with a focus on controlled environment agriculture, nutrient management, and sustainable crop production.
Performed extensive laboratory analyses on heavy metal extraction, oxidative stress biomarkers, antioxidant systems, proteomics, osmolyte metabolism, and photosynthetic efficiency during Master’s and Research Assistantship at Huazhong Agricultural University, China.
Actively contributed to undergraduate teaching and laboratory training in crop ecophysiology, plant physiology, and environmental biochemistry while serving as a research assistant.
Authored and co-authored peer-reviewed book chapters on environmental stress physiology, climate resilience, nanotechnology in agriculture, biofertilizers, and drought/heat stress tolerance mechanisms in plants (CRC Press, Academic Press).
