Access to chemotherapy remains a significant global health challenge, particularly in low and middle-income countries (LMICs). Despite advances in cancer treatment, disparities in the availability, affordability, and delivery of chemotherapy continue to hinder equitable cancer care worldwide.
Global Chemo Access refers to the effort to ensure all cancer patients, regardless of geography or socioeconomic status, can receive timely and appropriate chemotherapy treatments. While high-income countries have made notable progress in expanding oncology services, LMICs often face obstacles such as limited healthcare infrastructure, shortage of trained professionals, high drug costs, and inconsistent drug supply chains.
